This is my incredible family. Of course there is my husband Jon, Brandon (my 11 year old), Noah (my 9 year old) and Brody (born May 8 2008). Without the support of all of them there would be no Stone House Quilting.
I graduated from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science in 1991 with a degree in Textile Management and Marketing. I have always loved fabrics but never thought that this is where I would have ended up.
I began my quilting journey in 1997 when my oldest was born. I had always had a love for the hum of a sewing machine and find the sound very therapeutic. This first quilt was a simple rail fence pattern in blues. (i know, not very adventurous) Once the top was done, I wrestled the beast into the sewing machine for some crosshatching. I love that quilt for all that it taught me. LOL
In 2004, while working at the local quilt shop I found out that there are actually people with machines that they "drive" so you don't have to wrestle the quilt through your sewing machine. I was fascinated. I decided that would be a great business and off I went to "purchase" this machine. In fact, in 2007 I purchased my second longarm with the Intelliquilter and am having more fun then ever.
I continue to piece quilts for myself, gifts and even some competition when time allows. I have the most fun with simple piecing and elaborate quilting.
